Hi, this is Vidya Shankar from Cascade Family Learning Services.

I've been asked many times how do we actually educate our children in the absence of a school and when we do not want to expose the child to continuous online learning?

My team and I have come up with a series of 10 modules which we have placed in as a video and presentation as as well.

This is about getting multiple families together, not big numbers, just about three or 4 families together and starting to learn these modules first as a primer to build a kind of a learning cooperative.

We know that this needs to be done for a few reasons

The child needs a peer group and the child cannot be just learning with the parent at home.

And there is a certain burnout that might happen.

So the need for the child's peer group, given all the caution and the protocol, possibly from within the community, the age range has to be within two or 3 years.

That is a good range for the child to connect to. There can be common lessons because we can definitely see that the children are very, very receptive to new learning modes, which is off screen, which is actually on the ground, which is experiential.

So in society too, if you notice that we always are learning from different people, from different occasions, from situations, from you know, what we observe as well as what people are teaching us across ages.

So we also learn from people younger to us. We also learn from people older than us. So this is opening a whole range of learning opportunities when you unplug it from the screen and you actually delink it from a school.

Our whole endeavor is that the child inherent intrinsic motivation to learn is stoked, and that is what is going to be helping the child to become a lifelong learner.

So the child will become self directed slowly when he knows that things are in his control and he wants he wants to learn anyway, and he has the power to learn.

So that is something that he will get to know. So this is what we are attempting in our whole idea of making the multiple families coming together and learning together with their children willing to invest sometimes in turn, altogether. So it really helps the child to know that there is a possibility outside of school, and you know that I am comfortable with learning in this way.

So this is something that is going to catch on in times to come because it's already working in many places abroad as learning. They're calling it as pandemic pods.

But we don't need to call it as pandemic pods. We can call it as our culturally significant learning method because as an ancient civilization, we were always in small group learning setups.

So like gurukulas or small religious based learning places. So this is only recreating what the human beings have always done and are always willing to learn this way.

So I welcome you all to, you know, participate in this form of learning called mode that will benefit the children and thereby the society.
